Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Casserole

Here's a dish the family begs me to bring!  It's a little different than the sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows you are used to seeing on the Thanksgiving table.  All the ingredients can be bought super cheap this time of year @ Aldi.

Ingredients

1 (40 ounce) can cut sweet potatoes, undrained
    1 cup white sugar
    2 eggs
    1/3 cup butter
    1/3 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans (I use a combo of mixed nuts/pecans)
    1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Butter a 2 quart baking dish.

Heat potatoes with liquid in saucepan to boiling.  Cook until tender.  Drain and mash.

Mix mashed sweet potatoes, white sugar, eggs, 1/3 cup butter, milk, and vanilla.  Spread into baking dish.

Mix the brown sugar, chopped nuts, flour, and 1/3 cup melted butter in a separate bowl. Sprinkle over the sweet potatoes.

Bake 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
